My Identity

The one that follows me

Through day and night

Through thick and thin

Don’t be overshadowed by

The ‘daughter’ or ‘woman’.

 

Be yourself the real me

For, break the chains,

Shatter the barriers

And finally free from ‘others’.

 

Though the world denies you

Or question your existence,

I see you and know you

I need you and cherish you

For being the only one;

Which is you!

 

Let me be that one,

The one who never leaves

The one who is me

And the one that defines me;

My identity!

Throughout the endless journey

Whether the crimson red is rout or not

Follow me to the darkness

Till death do us part.
